Dogs in Scotland produce about 100 tonnes of dog dirt every day – that is the astonishing statistic from Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) which is running its annual Dog Fouling Fortnight from 1st to 14th September. Irresponsible owners who do not pick up after their dogs leave behind not only an unsightly nuisance but also a dangerous health hazard which can cause blindness. This year KSB is asking volunteers to get involved by conducting a dog foul survey of their local park, pathway, beach or woodland.
