Contract award for replacement PSO planes

The contract to supply two new planes to operate on the Scottish Government’s Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes has been awarded, Transport Minister Keith Brown announced yesterday (31/03/2015). The tender process has been won by Viking Air Limited, which will provide two Twin Otter DHC6-400 aircraft for use on the routes from Glasgow to Campbeltown, Tiree and Barra. The new 19-seat twin engine planes are expected to be delivered by May 2015, and will enter service once the certification process is completed.
