Woman Assaulted in Inverness

Police Scotland have appealed for information after a woman was assaulted in the Kenneth Street area of Inverness.

The incident happened near the junction with Tomnahurich Street, around 4am/4.30am on Tuesday, June 12.

Officers want to speak to a man described as about 6ft tall, slim build, aged 40 to 50-years-old, short dark hair, blue fleece and black trousers seen in the area about that time.

Commenting Sergeant Craig Stuart said:

"The lady involved uninjured but was understandably upset by this incident.

"We are liaising closely with her to regarding this incident.

“Unprovoked incidents of this nature are uncommon in Inverness which makes this particularly disappointing.

"I can reassure the local community that all efforts are being made to identify and trace the person responsible.

"I would appeal for anyone with information about the incident whether you were in the area at the time or recognise the description provided to please get in touch.

"We are also seeking to speak to the driver of a red taxi which collected the woman shortly after this incident.
