Collision on The A9 Near Dalwhinnie

Two-vehicle collision on the A9 near Dalwhinnie, which occurred about 5.30pm on Friday the 8th June 2018.

The collision involved a red Ford Focus and a silver Toyota Hilux.

The 72-year-old female driver of the Ford Focus, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was flown to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The passenger from the Ford Focus and driver from the Toyota Hilux were taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital Inverness with less serious injuries.

The road was closed until 0030am Saturday 9th June, to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out at the scene.

Commenting Sergeant Chris Murray, of the road policing unit, said:

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal for anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the collision and who have not already spoken with officers to come forward.”
