Police Scotland are continuing enquiries after a cyclist was injured in a collision on the B8004 at Banavie near Fort William around 1.25pm on Monday, May 28.

The 51-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow following the incident where his condition is described as serious.

The road was closed for several hours to allow enquiries to be carried out at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved and the man was involved in a planned tour event with other cyclists.

Commenting Sergeant Ewan Calder said:

"We're grateful to the public for their patience while the road was closed to allow our investigation to take place.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to call 101, quoting incident NP2548/18."
