Out With The Old in With The New?

Tensions will be high at the Inverness Leisure Centre this evening when Inverness’s next generation of football stars take on the boys of yesteryear for local five a side bragging rights.

The senior team of the Inverness Businesses Fives Group, combined age about 330 years, meet the might of Inverness Caley’s 10 year olds’ team, combined age about 50yrs.

The dramatic confrontation is the highlight of the overnight Sneckie Insomnia Soccer festival staged by the Businesses Group in Partnership with Caley Thistle in support of the Highland and Island activities of the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.

The event opens at 6.00pm today (Saturday) with a youth section of eighteen teams who play until 9.00pm when they hand over the baton to 20 men’s teams playing through for the rest of the night.

The youngsters versus oldies match at 9.00 pm marks the close of the first section and opens the second.

Who will prevail ?

All bets are off as it is too close to call but insiders fear that humiliation looms and not to for the starlets.
