Housebreaking in Kirkwall

Police in Orkney are appealing for information after a house was broken into in the Slater Street area of Kirkwall.

Damage was caused to the property and some personal items were found to have been taken from within.

The incident happened sometime between 2.15pm on Wednesday, November 22 and 10.30am on Thursday, November 23.

Reporting officer Detective Constable Marcus Shearer said:

"It is believed that this incident would have caused a noticeable amount of noise while it was ongoing.

"We are urging anyone who heard or saw anything unusual in the area at the time to get in touch with us.
