It is 20-years since Glengarry, who play their games at Craigard Park in Invergarry, last won the trophy.

Throughout the season they netted an incredible 101 goals thanks to the league’s two top goal scorers Raymond Robertson and Nick Dalgety.

Nick will feature in the Scotland U21s side who take on Ireland at Bught Park, Inverness for the shinty/hurling international on Saturday.

Marine Harvest employee Daniel MacLennan also helped with the goal haul, despite not being available for every game due to also playing football for Highland League side Clachnacuddin.

Team captain John MacKinnon, also a Marine Harvest employee received the coveted trophy on behalf of his team at the club’s home ground on Saturday.

Following the league victory, the team have now been promoted and will play in Marine Harvest North Division 1 next season.

Glengarry coach Ewen Cameron said the team had trained hard and concentrated on discipline throughout the season.

He added:

“The signing of Nick Dalgety was a huge boost for the players, who have all come through our youth development -  usually we lose players to clubs in higher divisions.

“Hopefully we can hold on to all our players for 2018 season as well as taking in some of our promising youngsters.

“I would like to thank our sponsor Colin Grassie from Culachy Estate, our goal judges James Henderson and Peter MacKenzie and everyone who has volunteered, donated and supported us during season 2017.”

Iain Johnston of Marine Harvest said:

“I was delighted to present Glengarry with the Marine Harvest North Division 2 trophy.

“They have been in incredible form this season and are worthy winners.

“Everyone at Marine Harvest would like to wish them the very best for next season playing in North Division 1.”

Jim Barr, President of the Camanachd Association said:

“Congratulations to Glengarry on winning Marine Harvest North Division 2.

“They have been on target throughout the season with the most goals scored by any team across our senior league set-up.
