A 22ft length of the perimeter fence around the bowling green has been damaged, with the wooden slats which made up the barrier being deliberately removed from their posts.

The vandalism happened sometime between 2.30pm on Friday, October 6 and the same time on Monday, October 9.

Police are appealing for information.

Commenting Inspector David Ogilvie said:

"Vandalism such as this is utterly thoughtless and a source of unnecessary frustration for the victims.

"We regularly carry out patrols in Muir of Ord to deter anti-social behaviour and any incident like this is a disappointing.

"We are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact us on 101, quoting reference NE14825/17, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
