Man Charged in Connection With Assault

A man has been charged following an alleged assault in Kirkwall in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 27-year-old was arrested and charged following the incident in the Ayre Road area at about 2am on Sunday, October 8.

He was anticipated to appear at Kirkwall Sheriff Court on Monday, October 9.

A 27-year-old man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries which required treatment at Balfour Hospital.
