Thefts From Two Restaurants in Portree

Appeal for information after thefts from two food outlets in Portree.

Entry was forced to The Chippy and Taste of India on Quay Street in the town overnight between 9pm on Monday, September 11 and 9am on Tuesday, September 12.

Quantities of cash were stolen from both businesses.

One of the businesses is estimated to have had a low four figure sum removed, while the other business also had a quantity of cash stolen which is yet to be calculated.

Commenting Detective Constable Shonagh Laing said:

"These are unusual incidents for Portree and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area overnight who saw anything they believe to be suspicious to contact us.
