Steel Beams Stolen in Elgin

Police in Moray are investigating a significant theft of metal from the Chanonry Road South area of Elgin.

Between Monday the 28th of August and Monday the 11th of September approximately 10 tonnes of steel beams were stolen from a commercial premise, possibly over two separate occasions.

Commenting Investigating officer PC Catherine Robertson said:

"This has been a significant theft of a large quantity of heavy steel which has possibly been taken on two separate occasions.

"The second occasion is thought to have occurred between Wednesday the 6th of September and Friday the 8th of September with the first being after Monday the 28th of August.

"If anyone recalls seeing anything suspicious in the area over the last few weeks I would ask that they contact us with information."
