Pickled Pig Sausage Launched by Butcher and Brewer
Seb Jones from Speyside Craft Brewery and Macbeth’s owner Jock Gibson have created a whisky and beer sausage.
An award winning butcher and brewer from the same town have joined forces to create what they hope will be an award winning sausage which is sure to leave consumers mouths sizzling with delight.
Jock Gibson owner of Macbeth’s butchers and Seb Jones of the Speyside Craft Brewery both based in Forres have created the Pickled Pig sausage, a combination of pork, whisky and beer.
The banger will be launched today (Saturday 7th May) at the Speyside Craft Brewery Festival.
“This is the first time we have collaborated in this way with another local business to create a culinary delight, but I think we have made something which is really special.
“Seb’s beers have won oodles of awards, and it really does add a smokey flavour to the pork.
“Maturing the beer in a whisky cask was a stroke of genius on Seb’s part and it tastes amazing.
In February, Macbeth’s got its customers’ love lives sizzling after launching a special sausage to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
As with the beer and whisky creation, they used their award winning pork sausage recipe and packed it with white chocolate and chilli – both aphrodisiacs.
“Creating these sausages is good fun and now that we have worked with Seb, I am sure we will be coming up with ideas to entice our customers to try something that little bit different.
“Long gone are the days where people simply want a pork sausage.
“People are excited to try new things and we are happy to oblige.”
