Ukulele Orchestra Play Their First Dates in Scotland for Three Years
The celebrated champions of the ukulele return to Eden Court on Tuesday 22 May.
They will be performing 'Heresy II Heritage', their latest show which charts their rise from playing village halls to The Royal Albert Hall and features material from their latest album 'By Request'.
Their repertoire is famously eclectic spanning all genres of music from Wagner to Nirvana, Daft Punk to The Proclaimers and everything in between.
From the first sold out concert in 1985 to the current world tour, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain have been turning-the-world-on to the ukulele via their youtube clips with millions of views and their storming live shows.
The group are credited with spawning hundreds of ukulele orchestras and inspiring thousands to take up the 'bonsai guitar'.
They are the group that made the uke cool.
The all-singing, all-strumming 8 piece have taken their anarchic, funny, foot stomping obituary of Rock and Roll and light entertainment around the globe with performances as far flung as The North Pole and Sydney Opera House.
Over the last 30 years The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has become a global sensation and nothing short of a UK national treasure.
