Paloma Faith To Close Friday Night of Bella 2018
Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival has announced that PALOMA FAITH (pictured) will top the bill on this years festival’s Friday night.
With her acclaimed Number 1 album ‘The Architect’ riding high in the charts and a BRIT nomination for Best British Female, Paloma Faith is set to deliver an unforgettable Garden Stage performance.
For more than two decades now, THE CHARLATANS have been an inspirational force in British Indie Rock, with 13 albums under their belt and 17 top 30 singles, they will have a huge back catalogue to pull from for their debut Belladrum performance.
In further line-up announcements, acclaimed four time GRAMMY award winning country singer-songwriter ROSANNE CASH headlines the Grassroots Stage, while SONGHOY BLUES bring their own brand of desert blues mixed with R&B, soul and hip-hop to the festival for the first time.
Massachusetts-based indie-folk ensemble DARLINGSIDE also joins us alongside reformed 90’s Scottish indie rock outfit THE SUPERNATURALS and set to make a welcome return are Bhangra Rock Fusion act KISSMET.
Also appearing over the weekend are Skye's NITEWORKS, a band known for their use Gaelic language and traditional music with electronic influences to create a fresh and exhilarating sound.
Completing this wave of line-up are THE FILTHY TONGUES featuring members of Goodbye Mr Mackenzie and Angelfish, trad-folk act HO-RO and local rock and roll artist DOUGIE BURNS & THE CADILLACS. A huge number of acts remain to be announced.
These artists join previously announced Thursday night headliner AMY MACDONALD, FRIGHTENED RABBIT who will perform the whole of their epic album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’, BBC RADIO 2/6MUSIC DJ CRAIG CHARLES and his FUNK & SOUL CLUB, THE LAFONTAINES, LUCY SPRAGGAN, TIDELINES, and COLONEL MUSTARD & THE DIJON FIVE.
“So many exciting acts new to Bella to rave about this year, plus some of our best friends are returning,” said Belladrum promoter Joe Gibbs.
“Paloma has been top of our hit list for a while.
“She is the perfect headliner for Bella and we can’t wait to welcome her.
“So far another stella line-up and so much more to come.”
2018 tickets for the 15th Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, voted Trip Advisor’s most popular UK festival in 2017, are on sale on-line and via ticket agents.
Following the tradition of a fancy dress theme at the event, Bella has announced that ‘Bollywood’ will be its 2018 theme.
Printed tickets can be bought from agents including: Inverness – The Ironworks, Eden Court Theatre, Caffery’s and Hootananny’s; Kiltarlity – Post Office; Beauly – Morrison’s; Dingwall – Sweet Treats; Elgin – Sound & Vision; Edinburgh and Glasgow – TicketsScotland; Alness – Iain’s Barber Shop. And Isle of Skye Paint Coy in Portree and Grant’s Fine Foods in Dornoch have been added as agents this year.
Bella patrons will need a three day ticket to see artists on the Garden main stage on the Thursday night.
Two day tickets are also be on sale, and allow access to the rest of the festival (excluding main stage) from Thursday night onwards.
Also on sale will be Saturday tickets, Campervan/ caravan, BellaDub VW Campervan and electric hook-up tickets.
Patrons planning a stage or hen party, or just coming with a group of friends, can make a group bookings of 10 or more tickets with no booking fee via the festival web site tickets page as can disabled ticket applications.
VW campervan owners can buy tickets to the BellaDub VW Campervan area.
Glamping providers Pitch Village have their tents on sale via Bella’s Skiddle tickets page and Yurts & Squrts accommodation is available via the festival’s web site page.
Bella’s lead charitable cause for a second year running is its local shinty club’s bid to build a new pavilion.
Donations can be added to ticket purchases via Skiddle or patrons can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/lovatshintyclub Camanachd Cup winning Lovat Shinty Club is one of the pillars of Bella’s local community, with a strong social side, an extensive youth initiative and a successful ladies’ team.
The new pavilion will provide a community hub with rooms for hire and a room for NHS clinics, plus male and female changing rooms, a social space, and a kitchen.
Car parks and camping areas will be open from 0800 and arenas will open from 1300 on the Thursday.
When buying tickets on-line with Skiddle, Bella patrons are being given an opportunity to contribute to Lovat Shinty Club’s new clubhouse appeal.
Bella sold out in 2017 for the ninth year in a row so fans are urged to buy early to avoid disappointment.
Last year’s headliners and major artists included: Sister Sledge; The Pretenders; Franz Ferdinand; Twin Atlantic and First Aid Kit.
